Ghazi the band consists of Ubaid Khan (Vocals), Hash Mushtaq (Guitars) and Tauseef Ghazi (Keyboards / Production). Ghazi is currently recording their debut album titled "Ghazi" at Ghazi Studios in collaboration with various artists, Taha (KOSTAL) and Raheel Ahmed. So far 6 songs have been completed on the record. An album release date is not final yet but Ghazi is shooting for summer 2009. Tere Bina was written in collaboration with Abbas Ali Khan in 1996. The song originally was written as dance track. The song was rediscovered by Ghazi in 2005 and revamped to a Hip Hop record with the help of maestro “Taha” from Sofa King Studios. The melody lines were tweak to resonate energy. The lyrics articulate emotions of loneliness “Tere Bina”. A trance version of Tere Bina was also written to create a more eclectic record, using sweeping arpeggios and outright mean synths. Check out the original version and the trance version below! Sochta houn was a collaboration effort by Houston area musicians to create a title track for a locally produced movie MooKitab. The song was composed by Ghazi and Ubaid Khan and produced & recorded by Ghazi. Hash played some crazy funk guitars to give the track an 80’s feel. It’s exactly what the song needed. Ubaid Khan put the gloss and shine with his brilliant vocals. The final touches were added by the perfect lyrics by Raheel Mansoor Ahmed. Pakistan Sangeet Icon is a reality-based singing competition to be shown on MTV Pakistan, Indus TV and Gkaboom. It is a mega show made to promote exceptional talent on the nation’s biggest platform. The purpose is to give Pakistan a new voice and one powerful aspirant. Contestants are selected from all around Pakistan and auditions are done in major cities of Pakistan like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar etc. Selected contestants are to perform in studio in front of three judges namely Ali Haider, Mikaal Hassan and Pappu, and eliminations would be done in every round. The judgement would be done through panel of judges, votes and audience poll (phone and sms). The show is aired on Saturday and Sunday on Indus Television at 8PM, MTV Pakistan at 9PM and Gkaboom at 11PM. The final winner has a chance to win One Crore Rupee contract.
