Saleem Javed Silver Jublee Press Conference 1985-2010
17th Feb 2010, was the day when a press conference was held in appriciation of Saleem Javed completing his 25 years since his first album release. The even was the start of a series of Saleem Javed's silver jubilee celebrations which will be conducted through out in next coming months starting from march. Press Conference was attended by Major Showbiz Promoters of Pakistan and Guest of Honour Legend Entertainer MOIN AKHTAR. Lawrence, Sam, Shehzad Haider, Shaukat Rizvi, Raza Ali, Zahir Changezi, Mubashir & Saeed Islam were some of the show organisers present at the press conference.
Akhtar Ali Akhtar opened the press conference event and called upon the guest of honour Moin Akhtar and along with him the man of the day Saleem Javed and senior showbiz promoters on stage. He Later on called upon the the host of the evening Dr.Huma Mir.
Event was hosted by Dr.Huma Mir one of the finest host Pakistan has seen. Huma gave a brief discription on Saleem Javed's career and than his music videos which started from 1994 till 2010 were played to recall his great achievements in Pakistani Pop Music Industry.
Moin Akhtar took the lead on the mic and told the press and media that Saleem Javed has earned his name and success strictly based on his Hard Work and true Talent. Saleem Javed has taken Pakistani Entertainment Industry name across borders through out the world and has succeeded. He mentioned that Saleem Javed pioneered in fusing FOLK and Bhangra with POP MUSIC and he has been famous with this unique style of his around the world. He also congratulated Saleem Javed for reaching his Silver Jubilee mark in Pakistani Music Industry and wished the best for future.
Saleem Javed addressed to the Press and Media of Pakistan about his struggle he had done through out his career specially in the beggining when he started his journey from Hyderabad to Karachi to become star with only Rs.50 in his pocket which was finished by the time he reached the city of lights. Saleem mentioned that his very first show in Karachi was with Moin Akhtar. He also mentioned from that night he started doing concerts and shows regularly and had travelled around the globe with Moin Akhtar for various events.
The event wasn't only based on Saleem Javed's Silver Jubilee press conference. The surprise behind the curtain was revealed when Saleem Javed announced the debut of his son JO-G to the Pakistani press and Media. He told to the media that he had done his work with hard work and sincerity he belongs to this country and he is now at the stage where he can give back to this country Pakistan. He said that he now present his son JO-G as an artist to this country as his sum of musicianship in these 25 years. He sent his son JO-G to Canada to get education in Audio Engineering and Music Production and both father and son decided to give back something to the country in a shape of JO-G coming back to Pakistan and give the sound and technique that Pakistani recording and music industry needs. He menitioned that JO-G's debut album is ready and will be launched within few months. The story continued when Saleem Javed requested everyone present at the hall to spare few minutes of attention on the projection screen where the AUDIO/VIDEO promo of JO-G's debut album was played and left everyone amazed with the captivating sound and ambience JO-G had in his Music.
Along with Moin Akhtar all the show promoters had appriciation to the max for Saleem Javed and best wishes and support for his budding son JO-G in the media. All the promoters had one thing in common to say about Saleem Javed that he is the man of commitment and gives his 100% to every show without discriminating the stature of the event. Some of the guests present at the event were, Film Star Mustafa Qureshi, Shehzad Nawaz, Barkat Ali Siddiqui, Babar Abbasi, Humayun Naz, Aslam Sheikh, Muskaan, Arbesham were some of the City's known name at the conference. Pretty much all the electronic and press media were at the event.
Senior Film star Mustafa Qureshi was called upon stage to say few words. He first congratulated Saleem Javed for reaching a milestone of 25 years in his Music Career and also mentioned the the city Hyderabad has produced many great talent through the span of time. He told the media that he also belongs to Hyderabad and Saleem Javed is also a talent from Hyderabad.
Saleem Javed launched his debut album LISTEN TO MY VOICE on March 7th 1985. It wasn't just the debut of the artist but also the debut of the state of the art technology in Pakistan i-e 24 multi-track recording system. Saleem Javed claims to be a pioneer in many things
1.First pop vocalist of Pakistan who got popular among the people by means of Cassette only, since most artist needs to come on T.V to get famous.
2.Saleem Javed's first album Listen To My Voice was the first ever album in Pakistan to be recorded on 24 Track Recording System in 1985
3.He Introduced the term Re-mix in Pakistan through his first album Listen to My Voice on March 7 1985. by Re-mixing an old song by Legendary Madom Noor Jehan. And so he did the first ever Re-mix in Pakistan
4.First ever singer in Pakistan to perform a song on Sports specifically on Cricket in 1986, on the occasion when Javed Miandad hit the six on the last ball of Sharjah Cup 1986 from the album Miandad the Great
5.Introduced Wireless mic and Headmic in Pakistan, Pioneer of performance among the crowd by stepping off the stage with wireless and head mic and perform within the crowd to pull them up. Many famous news papers and magazine highlighted this achievement of Saleem Javed and Pakistani music industry.
6. He became pioneer of Bhangra-PoP by introducing Chimta and Dhol to his pop music performance in his live acts on stage in late 80's
7.The concept of Fancy stage lights and Laser lights was nowhere near Pakistan, therfore he introduced the fancy stage lights and laser lights to the Pakistani Concerts scene from foreign and held a laser show night in early 90's in Karachi.
8.First Pakistani pop artist whos video JUGNI in early 90’s was aired on Channel V International
9.First pop vocalist in Pakistan to perform a cricket world cup song for Pakistani Cricket team. Song was Phir Aya Aya Yeh World Cup in 1996 (here comes the world cup)
10.He is the first Pop artist of Pakistan who has dedicated 14 Albums to date
The list of achievements continues as the singer hasn't quit yet. JO-G was called upon stage for a little chat with Huma Mir and spoke on his upcoming album and his projects and mentioned that he works not just with his father but with everyone. The statement was to be noted when JO-G was asked to say something about Silver Jubilee of his father and he said " THIS IS NOT THE END, ITS A NEW BEGGINING, There is a long way to go with him from here now ".
